If you are a Filipino and you are browsing from Philippines, when you enter the address Google.com in the address bar and hit enter, you will be automatically redirected to http://www.google.com.ph/.

Google redirects you based in your I.P. address. If your I.P. is from another country, let’s say India. Then entering www.google.com will redirect you to http://www.google.com.in/.  This way Google displays the results that are more relevant based on your country.

See for yourself that there a lot of country specific domains showing up better in Google search results. For Philippines, there a lot of .com.ph and .ph domains showing, and for India there are tons of .co.in and.in domains showing up with better search results.

What if you want to display Google search results in U.S.? If you do not want Google search to redirect you based on your county and use Google search results in the U.S., then you can do the Google trick below.

To avoid redirection of google.com into targeted countries all you have to do is type in www.google.com/ncr or google.com/ncr.

The NCR in the url stands for no country redirection. This is really helpful if you want to display results based on Google U.S. Search. This Google trick is truly useful for internet marketers and SEO specialist in checking for their work or client’s work, if they are targeting to rank for Google U.S. search results. Doing this Google trick, Google will display results based on the original U.S. Google.com.
