StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm is Now Officially Released
Blizzard had finally launched its expansion to StarCraft 2, which is called Heart of the Swarm. The newly released expansion is more focused on the Zerg. Its story line involves playing as Sarah Kerrigan, the former Queen of Blades and onced the most feared creature in the galaxy. You need to escape from a secured research laboratory and reclaim your empire at the Heart of the Swarm.
What’s New with Heart of the Swarm
With StarCraft 2 Heart of the Swarm expansion, better matchmaking, advance social gameplay, and new units were added. Since the expansion is more focused on the Zerg race, it takes you deeper into the hive mind of the zerg, and added improvement to the competitive game experience on Battle.net.

The expansion continues with the original story on StarCract 2 where conflict between the Terrans, Zerg, and Protoss exists. While all three races struggle, the specter of alien gods threatens the galaxy.
Sarah Kerrigan, former Zerg’s Queen of Blades, has seen that her humanity was restored by an ancient artifact, but she still remains a threat to all that she encounters. Her memory of being the mutant leader of the Zerg still lingers with her thirst for revenge.
Playing as Kerrigan, you will need to lead the Zerg and continue to grow stronger, using your powerful psionic skills and agility from years of spec-ops ghost training, at early stages. By completing missions and objectives, you can unlock powers that will strengthen the Queen.
New units are added for each race, namely Tempest for Protoss, Viper for Zerg, and Widow Mine for Terran. The new units are set to add more dynamics on the strategies involving the races.
StarCraft 2 Heart of the Swarm New Protoss Unit: Tempest
Tempest is an immense ship designed as an answer to Zerg and Terran long range weapons. The tempest being controlled by pilots uses kinetic matrix for power, and buildup volatile energies. It uses highly charged particles that can be fired on distant targets.
StarCraft 2 Heart of the Swarm New Zerg Unit: Viper
Viper uses biological weapons to weaken enemy forges giving more edge to the Zerg swarm. It stores a thick microbial soup on its abdomen, and can spray the mixture into the air whenever ranged enemy units approach. The effect nullifies the effectiveness of the enemy’s weaponry until the move out of the deadly mist.
StarCraft 2 Heart of the Swarm New Terran Unit: Widow Mine
Widow Mine represents the Terran Dominion automated weapony. It is a quadrupedal device that is being remotely controlled piloted into a contested area and then can be set to activate when enemy units are near. Once triggered, it will launch a missle that will explode a firestorm of shrapnel eliminating its main target and enemy units that are nearby.
StarCraft 2 Heart of Swarm added new official multiplayer maps and will test your wits and play experience for ladder and custom games. The maps presents new tilesets like protoss space stations, terran metropolis, vine jungles, and more. Also with the new maps, some of the physics and rules of engagements are tweaked like collapsible rocks can be used to block areas on the map, defeated units explodes, and more.
Improved Community Features
The expansion will bring a major overhaul to StarCraft 2 multiplayer experience, as groups and clans can give you chance to join together for practice or for team play. You can also communicate easily using private chat channels and play on the multiplayer ladders of any region while still using your native language.
You can also use the take command option to pick up a game from a saved replay and be able to watch any replay together with your friends in real time. You can also use recover game to save your in-progress multiplayer game useful if anyone dropped a connection or experienced a hardware failure. Unranked Matchmaking can also be used if you are worrying about your ladder ranking. Heart of the Swarm also features a leveling system that will let you unlock portraits, decals, and unit skins as you play in multiplayer and single player custom games.
